About Us
Dennis Proctor, founder and owner of Lakeland Picture Framing, has been a resident of Lakeland since he was a small boy. His choice of professional picture framing as a lifelong career began when he started working for an office supply company after school when he attended Lakeland High School.  With a small framing business located in the back, he started the process of learning the art of picture framing.  One day he discovered that he was the only employee in the framing department; shortly thereafter he was offered the opportunity to purchase the business.
This was a bit daunting to say the least.  Fortunately Dennis had several mentors helping along the way.  George Waller, who owned Waller Framing in Tampa, was one of these mentors.  Passing along the knowledge from both of his parent's 42 years experience in the business, George Waller taught Dennis everything he knew about framing. Dennis Proctor officially opened Lakeland Picture Framing in March of 1965 in Dixieland off Florida Avenue in Lakeland, later purchasing the current location at 1834 S. Florida Avenue, and has been at this location ever since.
